WHY IT IS STILL LISTED HERE
  Because the group is worth approaching anyway. The Nanomedicine Lab at ICN2 works on
  nanomaterials for therapy and diagnosis in cancer and neurodegeneration, on liposome and
  vesicle systems, and on clinical translation of advanced materials. That is her field.

TWO REQUIREMENTS SHE WOULD HAVE MISSED EVEN WHILE IT WAS OPEN
  1. "Experience synthesizing and modifying carbon nanomaterials" - hers are polydopamine
     and mesoporous silica-type systems, not carbon. This is a specific materials skill.
  2. "Personal license for preclinical research" - a European regulatory qualification.
     Her animal work ran under Chinese institutional ethics approvals, which is not the
     same thing and does not transfer automatically.
  It is also a SENIOR postdoctoral post and she is one year past her doctorate.

WHAT TO DO INSTEAD
  Write to the group leader speculatively, using the IBEC email in this pack as the model.
  Say plainly that she saw the July advertisement, that she recognises she would not have
  met the carbon-nanomaterials requirement, and ask whether a more junior position is
  likely. That is a better letter than pretending the advert was never seen.

  Barcelona also opens two Spanish funding routes worth raising in the same message: an
  MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship (2026 call closes 9 September) and Juan de la Cierva -
  Formacion. Both cost the host nothing.
