Dear Professor Wen,

I completed a PhD in pharmaceutics at the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and I am writing to ask whether you are considering postdoctoral researchers.

I am approaching you because of a specific overlap. You work on formulation, nutraceuticals, cosmetic product development and drug discovery from natural products. I am the named inventor on an Indian patent application (No. 202421042057) for a single-use transdermal system delivering a Curcuma longa flavonoid fraction for acne, which I carried from formulation concept through extraction, patch optimisation, in vitro release, antimicrobial evaluation, skin permeation and in vivo safety to filing. The supporting study is published in the Journal of Pharmaceutical Innovation, where I am first author.

My doctorate continued the natural-product theme: a mesoporous polydopamine Pickering emulsion co-delivering shikonin — poorly soluble and rapidly cleared, like most useful botanicals — with the BET inhibitor JQ1. In triple-negative breast cancer models it suppressed primary growth and lung metastasis by inducing apoptosis while blocking epithelial-mesenchymal transition and vasculogenic mimicry. Published in Acta Pharmacologica Sinica (46:3314-3326), joint first author.

I also noticed that you took your Bachelor of Medicine and Master's at Fudan in Shanghai. I spent eight years at the CAS institute in the same city, so we learned this subject in the same place.

I run projects end to end: formulation and characterisation, the cell biology, and in vivo efficacy, biodistribution and toxicology including ethics approval and histopathology.
