SUBJECT: Postdoc enquiry — targeted polymeric carriers, MSCA / Juan de la Cierva co-application TO: Prof. Silvia Muro, IBEC — confirm the current address on the group page Dear Professor Muro, I completed a PhD in pharmaceutics at the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and I am writing to ask whether your group is considering postdoctoral researchers. I am approaching you because your group designs targeted nanoparticles for barriers that most carriers do not cross. The barrier I have worked against is the tumour itself, and the design logic is the same: decide what the particle has to survive, then build backwards from the target. My doctoral system was a mesoporous polydopamine Pickering emulsion co-delivering shikonin and the BET inhibitor JQ1 in one particle. In triple-negative breast cancer models it suppressed primary tumour growth and lung metastasis by inducing apoptosis while blocking both epithelial-mesenchymal transition and vasculogenic mimicry. It is published in Acta Pharmacologica Sinica (46:3314-3326), where I am joint first author. I run projects end to end — carrier design and characterisation (DLS, zeta potential, TEM, SEM, HPLC), the cell biology that shows whether targeting worked, and in vivo efficacy, biodistribution and toxicology in murine models, including ethics approval and histopathology. I have not worked on the blood-brain barrier, the retina or biofilms, and my payloads have been small molecules. Those would be new ground.
